Winona Deyoung

Winona Mae DeYoung age 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 7, 2022. Waiting at the gates of Heaven with open arms the love of her life and husband, Tom; sister and brother-in-law, Ramona & Jack Thompson; brother and sister-in-law, Loral "Bud" & Kim Elton; great-grandson, Orion James Ritchie; and many others she loved and cherished. Born on May 20, 1946 in Grand Rapids, she married Thomas Alan DeYoung on January 8, 1966 in Wyoming, Michigan. They welcomed the first of two daughters in May of 1969 and another daughter in May of 1972. Nonie leaves behind her daughters, Amy & Charlie Morris, and Dawn De Young; a special daughter, Dawn King; a special son, Scott Nisonger; her grandchildren, James & Brandi Ritchie, Kayla & Kyle Heffler, Thomas Morris, Clayton Morris (Nana's Rhinestone Cowboy), Abigayle Morris, Anthony De Young, Kayla & Jeff Cook, Cody & Kailee Nisonger, Trinity Nisonger, Nathan & Amber Nisonger, Andrew Wilson, Emma Wilson, and Savannah Wilson; great-grandchildren, Lucian Ritchie, Hunter Norton, Christopher Lewis, Jaiden Heffler, Katherine Heffler, Jaxon Cook, Lynden Cook, Nash Nisonger, Hailey DeYoung, Melody DeYoung, and Luka Nisonger. Also surviving are many special friends she considered family. Nana, as everyone called her, was a selfless, caring, loving, wonderful Godly Women. Her family was the most important to her cherishing all her kids, grandkids, great grandkids and those she thought of as family. Nana loved sewing and making quilts as well as making her own greeting cards and other crafts. Hippopotamus, oh the hippos she loved so dearly, her collection of them was over the top, Tom made a beautiful bookshelf which she claimed for her hippo collection. She will be missed by all who met her and the lives she touched. She left this world a much better place because of her presence. Visitation with the family is from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville. Honoring her wishes, private family committal services will be held at Rockford Cemetery.
