Willy Hillard

Willy Johnson Hillard, affectionately known as Wanky, of Grand Rapids, MI peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Willy was the son of Samuel and Mattie Perry. Willy was an avid outdoorsman. If you knew him, at some point he took you fishing! He would spend hours fishing on the Grand River. He also enjoyed hunting and working with his hands. Willy was a jack of all trades. He knew a little bit about EVERYTHING! Willy was also a phenomenal cook and he loved to travel. Willie is survived by his 9 children, 32 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March, 14, 2020, at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E. at 36th Street (one block west of Eastern Avenue), Grand Rapids, where memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Immediately following the service a repast will be held at East Lee Campus School 982 Lee ST SW Wyoming, MI 49509. Per Willy's wishes cremation will take place. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
