Mr. William V. Ward, Jr., age 77, of Greenville, passed away early Thursday morning, May 4, 2006 at Spectrum Health United Memorial-United Campus, Greenville. The son of William V. Sr. and Ellen (Wright) Ward, he was born on Jan. 31, 1929 in Ionia. Bill retired from the former Gibson Refrigerator Company where he worked as a machinist and was a member of UAW Local 137. He also was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Belding. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and gardening. His family will always remember his baking and cooking skills, especially his oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies. On Jan. 31, 1998, he married his longtime friend and companion, the former Alberta (Tiffany) Yeomans. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and two sisters. Surviving are his wife, Alberta Yeomans of Greenville; his son, William V. Ward of Belding; four step-children and their families, Katherine & Tom Fuhrman, Dean & Christina Yeomans, Gary Lee Yeomans, and Rebecka & Rick Habel, all of Greenville; a brother, Ronald Ward of Belding; a sister, Carol June of Rockford; his grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
