William Watson

January 14, 1961 — October 12, 2023

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved father, William Nathan Watson, fondly known as Bill by his friends and family. Born on January 14, 1961, in Kalamazoo, MI, USA, Bill spent a significant portion of his life in Paw Paw, Michigan, where his charisma and charm became a staple in the community. As a dedicated father, a generous friend, and a compassionate chef, Bill’s memory will forever be etched into the hearts of those who knew him. Bill’s love for cooking was not just a profession but a lifestyle. As a respected chef at the Copper Grille, his dedication and passion for his work were evident in the culinary masterpieces he created. In his 15 years at Copper Grille, and 40+ years in the cooking industry, his kind heart and warm spirit became the secret ingredient that made every dish he prepared a delight to the senses. In his free time, he enjoyed watching football, immersing himself in movies, and spending time with friends and family. He had a particular fondness for penning poems, his words often echoing the sentiment, "The good life is one inspired by love and guided by knowledge." Loving and funny, Bill was a beacon of strength for his children, who were the world to him. He is survived by his children, Ashley (Michael) Schultz, William Watson II, his ex wife Juanita Hoekzema, and his Copper Grille family. He now rests peacefully with his parents, Bill and Margret Watson. Someone once said, "Life may carry us apart, but together we remain in each other’s heart." Bill made us all feel loved, cherished, and valued. His legacy lives on in the memories we share, the laughter we remember, and the love we will always hold close to our hearts. We encourage all who knew and loved Bill to share their memories and never live down his name. In this way, we can celebrate his life, remember his wonderful spirit, and ensure that his love continues to echo through the generations. Bill’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday Oct. 21st at 4pm. 72317 Co Rd 376 Covert MI 49043.
