William Vanroekel

William "Bill" J. VanRoekel, age 51, of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 6, 2019, in Grand Rapids. He was born on October 14, 1967 in Orange City, IA as the fourth of six children born to William and Elbertha VanRoekel. He spent most of his life on the West side of Grand Rapids known to most as "Bandana Bill". He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elbertha VanRoekel; his partner of over 10 years, Connie Smith; and his sister-in-law Miles VanRoekel. He is survived by his children, Jessica Van Roekel, Jake VanRoekel and Breana Amsink; his four grandchildren Jayden, Ana, Evan, and Solomon; the mothers of his children, Denise Elliott and Christina VanCamp; his five siblings, Ron VanRoekel, Darlene (Greg) Barrett, Laurie (Reinhard) Petermeier, Jerry (Heather) VanRoekel, Kathy (Bill) King; and many nieces and nephews.
