April 12, 1955 — October 20, 2025

William "Bill" Ted Kemperman, 70, of Coral, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 20th, 2025. Born on April 12th, 1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he was the beloved son of William J. Kemperman and Doris A. (Hoekstra) Kemperman. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who embodied biblical leadership as the head of his family. He is survived by his cherished wife Robin (Lawrence) Kemperman, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage; his four children, Sons William (Sara) Kemperman of Sparta, Michigan, and Michael (Erin) Kemperman of Morley, Michigan; Daughters Tracy Kemperman of Borculo, Michigan, and Jessica (Matthew) Jess of Piqua, Ohio; 12 grandchildren Joseph (Gina) Seigers, Alexander Westphal, Emma Westphal, Ellie (Nathan) Vereeke, William O. Kemperman, Sydney (John) Marhefka, Salvador Jess, Ruby Jess, Dorothy Jess, Melanie Kemperman, Lillian Kemperman, Emily Kemperman and one great grandson.

Bill's career at Consumer's Energy spanned decades of service: first operating the coal power plant in Port Sheldon, and later serving with expertise as a hydroelectric dam operator at the Croton-Hardy Dam until his well-earned retirement.

A man of many talents and passions, Bill was a published author, historian, artist, botanist and adventurer. He was an active member of the Saugatuck Historical Society, and an avid postcard and memorabilia collector. He enjoyed all things nature, from identifying wild flora and fauna, to growing and nurturing vast gardens at his home.

During his retirement, he section hiked the Appalachian Trail, often times accompanied by his wife Robin, or sons William and Michael. He was a longtime member of Grace Life Bible Church, eagerly sharing the Gospel with friends, family and strangers alike.

Bill was predeceased by his parents; William and Doris Kemperman, in-laws Arthur and Dorothy Lawrence, and sister Vicki Renninger.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm on October 24th, 2025 at Grace Life Bible Church, 3020 Lake Michigan Dr NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. A supper reception will follow.

Although we grieve the loss of his earthly presence, we find peace that Bill is safe in his Savior's embrace, celebrates in heaven's glory, and is forever saved by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ- unchained from sorrow, enveloped in unending love, and at peace in the presence of the Lord.
