William Benjamin Griswold, age 65, of Big Rapids, Michigan, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. The son of Ronald Ivan & Esther Mae (Stilson) Griswold, he was born on October 2, 1960 in Big Rapids, Michigan.

William worked in the road construction trade for most of his career with Slaughter guard rail. And then later in life he became a handyman. He was always fixing something or helping someone. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, rock picking and boating with family. He encouraged everybody to come out with him to enjoy the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rex Griswold and Terry Griswold; and one sister, Debra McPherson

Surviving are his children, Jeremiah W. Griswold of Mecosta, William B. & Stacey L. Griswold II of Big Rapids, and Mary A. Foster of Mecosta; nine grandchildren Jeremiah Griswold, Megan Griswold, Taylor Foster, William Griswold III, Kaleigh Griswold, Ryan Griswold, Jessy Foster, Katie Griswold, Zander Foster… and so many more he considered as grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters and one brother, Ronda Lea Thorpe, Cinda Arndt, Susan Griswold, LaDona & Larry Flanegan, and Michel & Patricia Griswold; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate William’s life beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 9408 190th Avenue, Stanwood, Michigan 49346.
