William Carey

William Henry Carey, 96, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully on April 9th, 2022 with his loving wife of 67 years Linda at his side. William was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 3rd, 1925. He graduated from Ann Arbor High School and the University of Michigan (Class of 1949) School of Engineering. William served in the Army Air Corps as a mechanic and assistant pilot from 1944-1945. Following graduation, he worked a variety of engineering roles before landing at Ford Motor Company where he retired after 25 years. William was most proud of his children and enjoyed retirement playing golf with his friends in Hudson, Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Edna (Bromley) and sister, Elizabeth. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Dave W of Philadelphia, PA and Tom E. of Roanoke, VA; daughter, Annette (Lawrence) Kain; grandchildren, Richard (Jessica), Jeffrey, and Troy Lockwood; and one great-granddaughter, Reagan Elizabeth. William will be interred at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI.
