William Cameron

William Duncan Cameron, age 65, of Spring Valley, California, formerly of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2007 in Paris, Arkansas while attending a motorcycle rally. He was born in Superior, Wisconsin, the son of Duncan and Ada Cameron. He spent the majority of his youth in Escanaba where he attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated in 1960 from Holy Name High School. After graduation, he attended the University of Michigan and later moved to San Diego, California, where he was a partner and general manager of a tire service center. He recently retired from this position and was enjoying retirement at the time of the accident. In addition to cross-country motorcycle touring, Bill enjoyed studying and discussing philosophy and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bill was a very caring individual and well-loved by his family. He will be greatly missed by the Cameron clan. His father, Duncan Cameron, preceded him in death in 1971. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Cameron of Spring Valley, Calif.; two daughters, Cynthia Chapman of La Mesa, Calif., Shelley Cowart of Escondido, Calif.; son, Joseph Cameron of Sienna, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Cameron, Richard, and Jackson Chapman, Grace Cowart; his mother, Ada Cameron of Greenville; seven siblings, John and Pamela Cameron of Kalamazoo, Robert and Caryl Cameron of Keuka Park, N.Y, Mary and Mark Mitchell of Stanton, Margaret and Mark Wilson of Charleston, W. Va.., James and Deborah Cameron of Greenville, Richard and Debra Cameron of Caledonia, Patrick and Mary Kay Cameron of Ballwin, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Local interment arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, Greenville.
