William Jordan Baker 

September 26, 1952 – May 29, 2026

William was born in Anderson, South Carolina to William Edward and Mary Frances (Brown) Baker where he resided until 2005 when he moved to Greenwood, South Carolina and finally moving to Paris, Michigan in 2025. Bill proudly served for 27 years in the Army National Guard of South Carolina. He earned an Associate Degree in Industrial Technology with a Major in Textile Management from Tri-County Technical College. Bill worked for BASF in Anderson then for Shaw Industries after the sale of the company in 2005 then finally after the sale to Honeywell in 2007, the plant was closed permanently.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and ex-wife Ann. He is survived by his wife Laura "Shirley" (Holloway) Baker; 2 daughters, Sonya Baker and Kristi (Grady) Hughes of Starr, South Carolina; 1 step-daughter, Brenda (Jeff) Linn of Paris, Michigan; 1 step-son, Brian (Lisa) Osborne of Rogers City, Michigan; 7 grandchildren, Mackenzie Hughes, Caitlyn (Matt) Kurowski, Zach (Megan) Albrant, Laura Albrant (Julia Everitt), Dom (Duchess) Linn, Aaron Linn (Alexis Roof), Justin Linn (Taylor Hopper); 3 great-grandchildren, Eddie and Sloane Kurowski and Nova Linn as well as another great-grandson due in June 2026 and a great-granddaughter due July 2026.
