William Anderson

Mr. William R. Bill Anderson, age 63, of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Spectrum Health-United Hospital in Greenville. The son of George & Eunice (Coulter) Anderson, he was born December 8, 1946 in Cass City. On February 19, 1983 Bill married Donna Rhoads Miller in Belding. Before his illness he was active in the Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 101 in Greenville, where he served as squadron commander in addition to serving as commander at the state level where he received the Gold Cap. He enjoyed cribbage, euchre, NASCAR (Tony Stewart was the greatest), horror movies and all crime shows. He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother; George & Liz Anderson; his mother and stepfather; Eunice & Clarence Spike Higgins; a sister, Marilyn Hardin Anderson; and his parents-in-law, Richard & Esther Rhoads. Surviving are his wife, Donna Anderson of Greenville; his children, Bobbie & Scott Bower of Greenville, Robert Miller Jr. of Greenville, San Juanita Anderson; his adopted children, Barbara Anderson, and Steve Anderson, all of Wisconsin; a brother, Ron & Corrine Anderson of Greenville; a sister; Barb Anderson of Greenville; a half-sister, Nancy & Earl Wheeler; siblings-in-law, Bobby Harden & JoAnne Peckham, Melvin & Melody Rhoads of Grand Rapids, Zada & Bill Dhaene of Greenville, Louella Brigham of Cadillac, and Deborah & John Allen of Ionia; four grandchildren, Robert Miller III, Nathan Bower, Natalie Bower, and Jacob Meyers, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Visitation is Sunday from 1-2 p.m. at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Dennis Johnson, pastor of the Greenville Bible Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately. Envelopes for memorial contributions for the wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
