Willard Jay Warners, age 82, passed away into his heavenly home after a brief illness with lung cancer. Will was born in Grand Rapids, MI on October 21,1943. After graduation he entered the United States Air Force. Upon leaving the Air Force, he served as police officer, security guard, and several odd jobs over the years taking him all over the country.
He was proceeded in death by his parents William and Ann Warners, brother Gordon Warners, sister Marge Idema
He is survived by his children Don and Nancy Smith, of Wayland. Dan and Halee Warners of Jenison. Doug and Tracy Warners of Jenison, and Don and Kathy Warners of Hudsonville.
Grandchildren, Travis & Margaret Smith, Jonah & Lacey Hoezee, Tony & Skylar Smith, Tanner & Tori Smith, and Toby Smith. Kyle & Brianna VanderKallen, Allision Warners, Caylie Warners. Brendan Warners, and Justin & Makayla Ostroskie. As well as 12 Great Grandchildren.
Will enjoyed fishing, a good flea market and old country music. His home was always open to anyone for anything they may need. He spent his last few years at Laurels of Sandy Creek in Wayland playing cards, bingo, and Chinese checkers. He never went anywhere without an ice-cold coke.
He will be loving remembered by family, his dear friend Laurie Keckler of Allegan and his sweetheart at the Laurels, Lois Eslinger
The family would like to thank the staff at the Laurels and Gentiva Hospice for their care.
A memorial and a private burial at Fort Custer will take place at a later date
