Wilburn Moss

Wilburn Lee Moss, age 72, of Allegan, was called Home by our Heavenly Father on May 4th, 2020. Wilburn was born on September 7th, 1947 to Olais and Cora Moss in Allegan, MI. In 1947 Wilburn was welcomed into this world at a time that was interesting for our country. On the heels of World War II, things were changing fast. Gas prices jumped up to 15 cents a gallon and bread to 13 cents a loaf! What a great year it was - the possibility of a UFO in New Mexico and the birth of a great man that we loved dearly! Wilburn was preceded in death by his parents;his Stepfather, Daryl Jordan; brothers, Billy, Delmer and Dean. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Moss; children, Wil (Laurie) Moss, Jane Moss, David Moss, O.J. (Christie) Moss, Corbett Rasnake, Larry (Chris) Rasnake, Lester Rasnake, and Margaret (Jim) Stoken. He is also survived by his sisterss Doris Moreno, Kathy (Dennis) Meyer and Marlene Wills. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved dearly, many cousins and nieces and nephews. As a young man, Wilburn worked hard; he worked in many different industries until he got into roofing. He worked as a foreman for Hoekstra roofing for many years. He loved the work even though it was hard on the body. After retiring from roofing he began "driving"; he delivered golf carts and flowers. He hated traffic, but he loved to drive! Wilburn had great love for his wife and his children. The only thing that Wilburn loved more were his grandchildren. A day at Grandma and Grandpa's included many treats, lawn tractor rides, sometimes Monkey Joe, always a prank, and lots and lots of laughter. He loved to hold the babies and he loved to hang out with the big kids. Wilburn left his mark on this earth when it came to his grandchildren. Wilburn was very fond of his extended family; he loved his aunts and uncles and cousins. Many trips were made to Arkansas to visit his family there. Wilburn loved the Lord and he loved his church and church family! Wilburn passed away in the early morning hours of May 4th, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Wilburn left this world peacefully with his devoted wife by his side. Many will miss his smiling face, his love and his humor! A Celebration of LIfe will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at God's Will Gospel Center, 1770 Jefferson Road, Otsego, Michigan. A Luncheon will follow the service.
