Virgilene Dales

Mrs. Virgilene Virginia Dales, age 95, a longtime Greenville resident, passed away Monday morning, March 29, 2010 at Ingham County Medical Care Facility in Okemos. The daughter of George & Ella (Brakins) Harris, Virgilene was born February 19, 1915 in Gowen. On February 13, 1937, at Crown Point, Indiana, she married Robert Bruce Dales. Mother -- A shoulder to cry on, a smile to count on, a love to live on. Virgilene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, in 1981; three brothers, Harold (Leona) Harris, Nello Harris, and Kenneth (Ruth) Harris; and two sisters, Vivian Winter and Dixie (Toby) Ingraham. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn & Donald Barbera of Holt; sister-in-law, Maxine Harris of Gowen; special niece and nephew, Nancy & Garrett Reer of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with Virgilenes wishes, private services will be held at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Greenville. She will be laid to rest in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding, beside her husband.
