Vera Zugel

Vera Kay (Hiles) Zugel passed away on November 23, 2024 at the age of 83. Her parents were Walter Frank Hiles, Sr. and Vera Rose Selner. Vera was preceded in death by her husbands, Glenn B. Schoolcraft, Glemuel Virgil McReaken and Frank Zugel; her fiance, David Dalrymple; as well as her brothers, Virgil (baby Virgie) , Walter Jr.; sister, Mary Hiles; nieces, Diane Kay (DeeDee Hiles) Coville & Lisa James; grandsons, Justin Jackson, Damon Sheldon; and daughter in law, Sandy Schoolcraft. She leaves behind her brother, Larry Hiles; and sister, Susan Lester; children, Mary Dotson, William Schoolcraft, Glenn L. Schoolcraft and Lila Young. Vera had many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Vera was a lifelong resident of southwest Michigan, born in Vicksburg. She has lived in Mendon, Kalamazoo, Orangeville, Otsego, Plainwell and Allegan. Vera enjoyed camping, mushroom hunting and spending time at the lake as well as candy making, paper crafting and finding ways to spread joy and cheer to others. A celebration of life will be held in Vera’s honor on December 15, 2024 in Allegan, Michigan at The Silo, 1071 32nd St. Allegan, MI Sunday, December 15th 1:00 to 3:30 pm Memorial service ~ 1:30 til 2:00 In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Wishbone Pet Rescue. We will have a donation box to benefit Wishbone Animal Rescue. All proceeds will be donated in loving memory of Vera Zugel.
