Valerie A. Bullock Valerie Ann Bullock, age 83, formerly of Dearborn, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at West Hickory Haven Nursing Center in Milford, Michigan surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. The daughter of Frank F. & Catherine Theresa (Chmielewski) Paulsen, she was born on April 11, 1940, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On August 20, 1960, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan, she married Charles Leonard Bullock and together they raised 6 children and enjoyed nearly 30 years of marriage until Charles passed away on March 31, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Valerie worked outside of the home in the offices of the K-Mart Corporation headquarters in Troy. She enjoyed music, singing, collecting thimbles, writing poetry and she loved angels and butterflies. She was a member of a Bible study group. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, but eventually could no longer attend Mass. Surviving are her children: Catherine I. DeLisle (Robert) of Allen Park, MI, Charles D. Bullock (Kristine) of Hessel, MI, Phillip G. Bullock, of Carleton, MI, Gerianne M. Bullock, of Westland, MI, Denise V. Lake, of Westland, MI, Joseph M. Bullock (Jamie Markich) of Carleton, MI; 12 grandchildren: Anthony Pelaccio, Christopher Pelaccio, Charles Bullock (Mary), Justine Dove (Jamie), Amanda Vanover (Marvin), Mario Pelaccio (Jessica), Joshua Bullock (Nicole), Robert DeLisle (Haley), Steven DeLisle (Marissa), Benjamin DeLisle (Samantha), Damin Lake, Shannon DeLisle; 25 great-grandchildren: Angelica Vanover, Dominique Vanover (Bryson Firosz), Trever Pelaccio, Angela Pelaccio, Ethan Vanover, Jonathan Bullock, Aiden Neal, Brady Neal, Jeremiah Vanover, Dominic Martinez, Nicolas Pelaccio, Chloe Bullock, Cebastian Neal, Isabella Vanover. Ella Bullock, Brayden Pelaccio, Ruby Bullock, Jaxson Bullock, Emma DeLisle, Sophie Bullock, Virginia DeLisle, Nathan DeLisle, Lucas DeLisle, Hazel DeLisle, Lillian DeLisle; 1 great-great granddaughter, Harper Firosz; Brothers: Fr. Casimir Paulsen, CMM, Johannesburg, South Africa, John F. Paulsen (Donna), Greensboro, NC, William (Bill) Paulsen, Southgate, MI, and several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial for Valerie will be celebrated on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 2:00pm at St. Constance Catholic Church, 21555 Kinyon, Taylor, MI. Fr. Ryan Walters, presiding. Burial beside her late husband will take place at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights, Michigan at a later date.
