Troy Tolan

Troy Thomas Tolan, Jr., an aspiring bassist, age 14, of Dorr, passed away Tuesday evening, June 28, 2011 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids from injuries received in a bicycle-automobile accident in Allegan County. He will be sadly missed by his mother, Lisa Burkey and step-father, James Barnette; father, Troy Tolan Sr.; grandparents, Larry (Vonita) Burkey, Donnah Jakubowski, and Tom Tolan; many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kathy Tolan and Jim Jakubowski. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 2nd at the Caledonia American Legion Post 305, 9548 Cherry Valley, Caledonia, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a memorial ceremony beginning at 2:00 p.m. Instead of flowers, relatives and friends are asked to condsider the needs of the family. Checks payable to Lisa Burkey and either mailed and left at: DFCU Financial, 641 44th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49548. Envelopes will also be available at the American Legion on Saturday. Arrangements were entrusted to the Michigan Cremation Company, Grand Rapids.
