Tina Marie Plank, age 42, of Westland, formerly of Greenville, passed away Thursday evening, September 22, 2011 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born to John Daniel & Lorraine (Christensen) Plank on November 18, 1968 in Greenville.
A 1986 graduate of Greenville High School, where she played on the golf team, Tina earned her bachelors degree from Central Michigan University. After college, she worked for Judge Edward Skinner in Montcalm Countys Probate Court, and then pursued a life-long career as a social worker -- with a passion for helping the elderly.
Tina enjoyed bicycling, sewing and handicrafts, but most of all delighted in time spent with her family especially her special nephew and niece, Daniel and Emily.
She was preceded in death by her birthmother, Lorraine Plank, in April of 1977; a brother, John Daniel Danny Plank, Jr. in February of 1983; her father, John Daniel Dan Plank, Sr. in November of 2002; and by her special sister-in-law, Patty Guagliardo in May of 2006.
Surviving are her mother, Mary L. Plank-Doherty, and her step-father, Jim Doherty, of Greenville; a brother, Kirke & Elaine Plank of Janesville, Wisconsin; two sisters, Carol Plank of Missoula, Montana, and Molly Plank-Runkel and David Runkel of Milan; aunts and uncles, Fred & Jane Walkington of Wellston, Judy & Dan Freeman of Springfield, Virginia, Mary Geiger of Greenville, and Madeline Christensen of Grand Rapids; five nieces and nephews, Bill, Jill, Wade, Ame, Emily, and Daniel; and many cousins and friends.
Graveside committal services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding, with the Rev. Father Michael F. Cilibraise officiating.
