Timothy Lee Grimwood, age 59, of Blanchard, formerly of Crystal, passed away Sunday evening, April 24, 2022 at his home after an unexpected heart attack. The son of Maxine Eloise (Ward) & Robert Max Grimwood, Sr., he was born on July 2, 1962 in Lansing.
Tim was employed with the Montcalm County Road Commission for 23 years and delighted in being on the roads of Montcalm County. On January 19, 2013, in Crystal, he married Cheryl Anne Hootman. Together they attended the Blanchard Church of God, where Tim volunteered in a number of activities. An avid reader, he also enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and baseball... especially watching his children, grandchildren, and the Detroit Tigers play ball.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Grimwood, Sr. in 2007; his mother, Maxine E. Grimwood in 2019; three brothers, Ronald Dale Grimwood in 2002, and Terry Lynn Grimwood in 2016, and the Rev. Robert Max Grimwood, Jr., Ph.D. in 2020; his mother-in-law, Ivy Margaret Hootman in 2017; and two brothers-in-law, John Hootman, and John Goodroe.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Grimwood of Blanchard; his children, Leann Grimwood & Tony David of Carson City, and Christopher & Emily Krukowski of Big Rapids; three grandchildren, Khloe, Kamryn, and Korbin Barbachyn; siblings-in-law, Margaret & Monty Bennett of Summerfield, Florida, Judy Grimwood of Lansing, Lisa Hootman of Brighton, Michael & Karen Hootman of Brighton, Lloyd & Madeleine Hootman of New Boston, Lisa Goodroe of Novi, Frederick & Karine Hootman of Dearborn Heights, Jack Jr. & Kelly Hootman of Westland, Ivy Kay & Scott Michael of DeWitt, Iris Cole & Elvis of Harrison, and Brad Hootman of Brighton; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family is from 12-1 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Blanchard Church of God, 200 Fourth Street, Blanchard, where memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pastor Dick Eldred will officiate and a celebration of life gathering will follow in the church hall.
