Thomas Smith

Thomas Joseph Smith, age 86, of Greenville and Palmetto, Florida, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at home. The son of George Wallace & Gladys Muriel (Foulkes) Smith, he was born on July 4, 1938 in Akron, Ohio. Tom enlisted in the United States Navy after graduating from Greenville High School in 1956. After his service to our country, he became an x-ray technician and after many years worked in silver recovery. On May 10, 1962, he married his soul-mate, Patricia Ann Kent, and together they enjoyed over 62 years of marriage, and raised two children. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but mostly delighted in time with his family...especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, George & Gladys Smith; and one brother, Leonard & Judy Smith. Surviving are his beloved wife, Patricia Smith; his son, Todd Smith; his daughter, Kim & Bud Anderson; four grandchildren, Megan Anderson, Garret & Alecia Anderson, Riley & Taylor Smith, and Zack Smith; five great-grandchildren, Nina, Aubrey, Kaylynn, Preston, with one on the way, Malcolm; his siblings, Joanne & John Sinclair and Larry & Dorothy Smith; Pat's siblings, Rick & Debbie Kent, and Troy Kent; and many nieces, nephews, and other friends.
