Thomas David "Tom" Ruby, age 70, of Wyoming, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
He was born on November 24, 1952, in Lapeer, Michigan, to David & Marion (Walker) Ruby.
Tom was a machinist at M.K. Chambers Company, retiring after 25 years of service. Tom was a member of the Fostoria Baptist Church for over 25 years. Tom served his country in the Michigan Army National Guard as a cook in the 1980s in Lapeer, Michigan.
He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Tom had a deep passion for raising German Shorthaired Pointers and bird hunting; a dog was always by his side. He had a tremendous gift training bird dogs; he established Silver Dollar Kennels and was sought out by customers nationally for his skills.
He is survived by his son, Jeremi (Shannon) Ruby of Byron Center; grandchildren, Adriauna, Gabriele and Cooper; brother, Ron (Rhonda) Ruby of North Branch; nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and step-mothers (Lucille and Pearl); sister, Bonnie Weldy; and niece Sandy (Weldy) Barron.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Fostoria Baptist Church.
A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the Fostoria Baptist Church, Fostoria, Michigan with a luncheon following the service.
