Thomas "Bumpa" William Jones, age 73, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, February 7, 2017.
Tom was very much a family man that put his family first. He was loved by all who met him and was always there and willing to lend a helping hand. Tom loved spending time in the great outdoors with his family, which included camping, fishing and hunting. Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He will be lovingly missed by all.He was preceded in death by his parents, Meldon and Ruth Jones; sister, Clarice; brothers, Jack, and Bob.He will be dearly missed and remembered by the love of his life, Darlene Jones; Brother, Lou (Marga) Jones; Children, Margie (Scot) Shippy, Kim (Tim) Hill, Tommy, and Marlene (Keith) Lee; Grandchildren, Scot Thomas (Lindsay), Brittanie (Ryan), Aalayna (Pelon) and Jasslyn. Great grandchildren, Scotie Jr, Sophia, Freya, Alyvia, and Embry; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service with full military honors will take place at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Davis Memorial Church of God, 111 Griggs St. S.E., Grand Rapids, with a luncheon to follow the service.
Honoring his wishes cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
