September 28, 1930 — April 13, 2016

Tom, a man with a smile on his face and a song in his heart, journeyed peacefully to his eternal home on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. A man who lived for his Lord, his family and friends, he was born on September 28, 1930 in Muskegon Heights and was a proud US Army, Korean War veteran who loved his country. Tom was an Industrial Sales Representative in the Steel Industry for 50 years. He was an exuberant fan of the Tigers, Lions and his beloved Wolverines. Tom enjoyed children, especially his grandchildren, and they loved him dearly in return. Tom will be missed by Betty, his bride of 64 years; children, Deb (special friend Jeffrey Roland), Dan (Cathi), Mary Beth, Jeff (Andrea), and Amy Kool (Doug); grandchildren, Elizabeth Higgins (Chris), TJ (Kelsey) Holtz, Jordan (Justine) Holtz, Justin Holtz, Melanie Kirsch, Rance Kirsch, Ryan Kool, Meagan Miskosky (Nick); seven great-grandchildren; brother, Butch (Karen) Reyburn; sisters-in-law, Nancy O'Neal, Noreen Charon, and Etheldra Holtz; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Holtz and Mildred Reyburn; and his brothers, Robert and Richard Holtz. The family wishes to thank Spectrum Health Hospice and the entire staff of Allendale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, who loved and cared for "Tommy," treating him like a beloved family member. A visitation will be held from 4:30pm - 6:00pm on Monday, April 18th, at Christ Lutheran Church, 2350 44th St SW, Wyoming, with a memorial service to follow. The family requests that memorial contributions be donated to, Allendale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Alzheimer's Association of West Michigan or Spectrum Health Hospice. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
