Thomas A Hoekstra, Jr., age 84 of Hudsonville, Mi passed away into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, May 28.
Tom was born in Chicago in 1940. He graduated from Chicago Christian High School, DeVry Tech in Chicago and Calvin University with a degree in Math. However, he worked his whole life in recording music and duplicating recordings which was a perfect fit for him. He owned his own recording business for 25 years. Tom met and married his wife Mary in 1966 and was happily married for 58 years.
He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas A and Beatrice (Rypkema) Hoekstra; sister, Alyce and John Korte; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Arie and Sybel Nobel, Peter Nobel, Dave Mulder and Joyce (Ronald and Clarence) VanderBent-Davids.
Survived by his beloved wife, Mary E. (Nobel) Hoekstra; daughters, Lisa & Wayne Franken (Jeremy, Marissa and Eric Ouwinga, Mark); Susan McMartin (Kaitlyn, Anna, Michael), Andrea & Andrew Oosterhouse (Jacob, Natalie); nieces, Marilyn and Bob Pete and Norma and Bob Israels; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ruth Nobel, Faith and Ron Bosserman, Phyllis Mulder, Jacque and Don Jonker, Jan and Justin Otten, John Nobel, and Dennis Nobel. And he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 with visitation at 12:00 at the LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church.
