Thomas Helder

Thomas L. Helder, age 70, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday morning, January 23, 2022 at his home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Louis & Kathleen Donna (Lotterman) Helder, Tom proudly served in the United States Army. Tom retired after 45 years of service from Meijer, Inc. where he worked in office management at the company headquarters in Walker, as well as traveling extensively to Meijer stores throughout the mid-west. He enjoyed deer hunting, trout fishing in the Pine and Pere Marquette Rivers, or just relaxing on the deck. He was a man of many talents and made himself available to anyone in need of help. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are the love of his life, Linda M. Helder; a son, Scott T. & Katie Helder and their children Ethan and Drew; special cousins, Ruth Agin and Susan Theule; brothers-in-law, Robert & Linda Lowell, and Russell & Deb Lowell; and many nieces and nephews. We are all saddened by the passing of Tom, but throughout his journey, he touched many lives. He will always be remembered and forever in our hearts. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Tom's life from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at The Casino Club, 3260 Salerno Drive N.E., Grand Rapids, with the rendering of military honors at 1:00 p.m. Dress casual, be ready to share memories, laugh at the good times, and remember the full life he lived.
