Thomas Alexander

Thomas Jay Alexander, age 65, of Lakeview, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 near Lakeview after an apparent heart attack. The son of Richard Lafayette & Ann (Smalley) Alexander, he was born on November 30, 1957 in Sheridan and was a graduate of Central Montcalm High School. Tom worked as an electrician at Brooks Electric in Stanton in the early 1980's, then for many years with the Hansen family in their potato production business, and retired from Extruded Aluminum Corporation in Belding. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Alexander in 1960; his step-mother, Irene (Rigdon) Alexander in 1999; two sisters, Judy Ann Alexander in 2005 and Cathy Ann Lynn in 2022; a brother, Richard Thomas Alexander in 2006; and his father, Richard L. Alexander in 2008. Surviving are his children, Ryan & Nicole Alexander of Stanton, Brittney Alexander of Tennessee, and Heather Butler & Greg Anderson of Stanton; his long-time companion, Michelle Butler of Lakeview; ten grandchildren, Addison, Jozlynn, Cayson, Bryce, Kiara, Gunner, Fisher, Jerzey, Trigger, and River; two great-grandchildren, Blaike and Maddix; a brother, Terry Alexander of Mexico; best of friends and special cousin, Doug & Rickie Alexander; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pastor Steve Bills of the Greenville Bible Methodist Church will officiate and burial will follow in Sidney Township Cemetery.
