Theresa Mccreary

August 12, 1971 — April 10, 2024

Theresa Ann McCreary, a beacon of generosity, joy and wisdom, embarked on her grandest adventure yet on a sunny day that seemed to reflect her spirit. Born to the world on August 12th, 1971, she crafted a life full of love for her family and born to the heavens in a flourish of Disney magic and the serenity of her faith in Jesus Christ, her savior on April 10th, 2024. For 34 years, she navigated life's twists and turns with her beloved co-captain, Kenneth Lee McCreary, sharing a love as enduring as the classics they adored. Experiencing adventures in their RV/camping with their canine companions, Max, Maggie, Tyke, Missy, Stella, Jack, Forrest, and Baby. Being a proud military wife, Theresa's roots spread across the country, from Kentwood Michigan to Woodbridge Virginia, to Fort Huachuca Arizona, and to Ada Michigan, each place a chapter in her story. Her son Nicholas and his wife Jennifer gave her the title she wore like a crown: Grandma. The twinkling eyes of her grandchildren, Noah and Annabelle were the melody to her song, a tune of endless warmth and affection. Theresa's story is told in the laughter-filled rooms of the family home, in the echoes of advice lovingly given, and in the footprints left on the trails of the Grand Canyon and the waves she danced upon when visiting the Outer Banks. Memories are etched into the minds of all who accompanied her on trips and cruises to Alaska, Hawaii, and the national museums in Washington DC, Shenandoah, Yellowstone, and Sequoia National Parks. A middle child, Theresa was the heart of the Peterson clan, a bond shared with her sisters Emilie, Rebecca, Katrina, and Pamela - knew her as the glue, the peacemaker, the one who could always find a way to make a gray sky blue and a testament to parents Robert and Ellen's nurturing love. They instilled in her the values of faith and compassion, which she carried like a torch, illuminating the paths of those around her. As an aunt and great-aunt, Terrence, Jessica, Brittany, Tiffany, Malynda, and Ashley will remember her laughter, her stories, and the way she could turn an ordinary day into an adventure. To the little ones - Kaylee, Kayden, Kara, Serenity, Bentley, Kameron, Avielle, Adriyana, and Jaxson - she was the great aunt who taught them the magic of imagination. As we say goodbye to Theresa, we celebrate a life that was a beacon of hope, a testament to faith, and a reminder to cherish every moment. Her penmanship was as beautiful as the life she inscribed upon our hearts, and her memory will be treasured always.
