Terry Simmons

Terry Alan Simmons - 68, of Walkerville, formerly of Byron Center, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 14, 2021, surrounded by family. Terry proudly worked for Steelcase for 30 years. Terry loved to fish, hunt, play horseshoes, listen to Tigers baseball games, play cards, and bet against Michigan football (even though, he was an avid fan). Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Lester Simmons; his sister, JoAnn Jamison, and fiance, Kristi DeYoung of Kentwood. Terry is survived by his children, Jennifer Van Bennekom of Wyoming, Jill (Mike) Tobolic of Byron Center, and Terry Simmons of Kalamazoo; His three grandsons, Calvin and Joel Van Bennekom and Drew Tobolic. Also, his brother Gary (Barb) Simmons of Caledonia and Gayle (Floyd) Blair of Hopkins along with many nephews and nieces. A celebration of life gathering will be held at Douglas Walker Park Pavilion, 1195 84th St. Byron Center, MI. on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 5-8pm. Masks will be required.
