Mr. Ted King, 62, of St. Maries, Idaho, formerly of Greenville, passed away Monday, April 3, 2006 at his home. The son of Stanley & Leola (Wilbur) King, he was born on November 1, 1943 in Greenville.
Ted grew up and attended school in the Greenville area, enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1961. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was a life member of the Lester J. Sitts Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5065 in Sheridan. After his honorable discharge, he returned to the Greenville area where he played guitar in local bands and also taught karate, having been a third-degree black belt himself. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting coins.
He was preceded in death by a son, baby Jack King. Surviving are his wife, Bernadine; sons, John R. King of Morley, Jack King of Traverse City; daughters, Cynthia Hoover, Melissa R. and David Larson of Morley; mother, Leola King of Greenville; sister, Kathy and Lupe Rodriguez; and three grandsons and one granddaughter.
Memorial services are at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2006 at the BelGreen Seventh-Day Adventist Church (9799 West Baker Road), Greenville, with Pastor Karl Tsatalbasidis officiating. Burial, with military honors rendered by the Lester J. Sitts VFW Post 5065, will follow at Oakfield Township Cemetery.
