Sylvia Jean Rydahl, age 77, of Greenville, passed away Saturday morning, December 21, 2013 at her home. The daughter of Cleo & Blanche (Johnston) Hall, she was born on April 7, 1936 in Greenville. On October 7, 1961, at the South Sidney Church, she married Norman Carl Rydahl and together they enjoyed over 42 years of marriage and raised two children.
Over the years, Sylvia had worked for The Daily News, Printco, and Meijer until her retirement. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cleveland-Wolverton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3794 in Greenville, having served as president and holding several other offices as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman C. Rydahl on April 27, 2004; and a brother, Randy Hall in 2006.
Surviving are her children, Jean Marie Rydahl of Visalia, California, and Thomas & Nicole Rydahl of Greenville ; three sisters, Debbie Hall of Grand Rapids, Diane Moffett of Greenville, and Jeanette & Orval Cooper of Evart; siblings-in-law, Marion Wood of Essexville and Harold & Joyce Rydahl of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. today (Thursday) at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Rev. Ken Harger, retired pastor of Shiloh Community Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at East Montcalm Cemetery.
