Suzanne M. Lumbert

Suzanne Marie Lumbert, age 60, of Ionia, Michigan, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026 at her home under the loving care of her family and Corewell Health Hospice.

The daughter of Frank & Lois (Feenstra) Nicholson, she was born on January 15, 1966, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and after graduating high school attended college.

On May 14, 2005, in Greenville, Michigan, she married Roy Raymond Lumbert and together they enjoyed nearly 21 years of marriage.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Suzanne was proud of her Native American heritage and enjoyed fishing, painting, being out in the sun, and spending as much time as she could with her family. She was incredibly proud of her daughters and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Nicholson, and sister-in-law Lorrie Nicholson.

Surviving are her mother, Lois Elzinga; her husband, Roy R. Lumbert; her two daughters, Brandy & Michael Staudenmeyer, and Haley & Steven Kirby; her grandchildren, Ariana Miller, Keiana Diaz, Zachary Staudenmeyer, Nayomii Bailey, Olivia Bailey, and Madisyn Bailey ; sisters and brothers, Cathy & Gregory Krieter, Corrine Shock, Frank & Rhonda Nicholson, Jack & Jennifer Nicholson, and James Nicholson; siblings-in-law Lorraine Sprague and Linda Weatherbee and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Suzanne’s life is being planned and will be announced at a later date. Instead of flowers, contributions to the family would be appreciated.
