Susan Vorenkamp

Susan Kay Vorenkamp, age 68, passed away (complications from the flu) Tuesday, December 06, 2022. She was born May 13, 1954, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Donald & Ruth (Brott) Rosenberger. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Donna Westfall, and her son Rick Simmons Jr. She leaves behind her sons: Andrew (Carrie) and Brandon (Shelley) Esquivel. She leaves behind her sons: Andrew (Carrie) and Brandon (Shelley) Esquivel. Grandchildren: Brandon Esquivel II (Alyse), Alyssa Esquivel, Brook Esquivel, Johnathan Esquivel, Madi Esquivel, and (Noah and Kylie). Great-Grandchildren: Max, Owen, and Dominic Esquivel. Sister: Jo Heidman (Craig) and their children and grandchildren. Brother-in-law: Tim Westfall (Donna) and their children and grandchildren. Sue spent almost 20 years caring for Veterans at: Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids, as a nurse's aid. She loved her job and had a huge place in her heart for those who have served. She enjoyed bingo with her granddaughters and friends, watching westerns, and game shows- especially the Price is Right. She loved to cook and bake. She made a mean lasagna and always made too much brown gravy. Sue spent almost 20 years caring for Veterans at: Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids, as a nurse's aid. She loved her job and had a huge place in her heart for those who have served. She enjoyed bingo with her granddaughters and friends, watching westerns, and game shows- especially the Price is Right. She loved to cook and bake. She made a mean lasagna and always made too much brown gravy. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She had a generous and caring heart. Sue was always willing to help and loved to gossip with her best friend Carol. Cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.
