Susan Nuckolls

Susan Dawn Nuckolls, 72, of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday May 20, 2018 at home under the care of her family and Faith Hospice. The daughter of Hugh & Jean (Gilligan) Weiler, she was born March 7, 1946 in Ludington. Sue attended West Shore Community College, where she was a part of one of first graduating classes to obtain her nursing degree. She went on to practice nursing for over 30 years as a LPN for Mercy Health. Susie enjoyed knitting, reading, and loved to venture to new places, making many friends along the way. She was known for her kind heartedness and her love for her three boys. Being a great cook and a dedicated homemaker, she often took on the mother figure role to many who needed a guiding hand. Susan was preceded in death her by parents, and her husband, Paul L. Nuckolls. She is survived by her children, Matthew & Elizabeth Nuckolls, Michael & Rebecca Nuckolls, and John & Jackie Bouma; grandchildren, Bradley & Nicole Richardson, Tyler Bouma, Katelyn Bouma, Joseph Nuckolls, and Archie Nuckolls; brother, Mark M. Weiler; and sister, Anne & Donald Whitenight; along with many other extended and beloved family members. Rest in Peace, Susan. You were an amazing mother, aunt, sister, and friend. Visitation is being held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2018 at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E.
