Susan Dine

Susan Dine (DeBruine), 61, of Jenison (licensed cosmetologist and quality inspection professional), passed away August 10, 2025. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Susan spent her childhood in Jenison and graduated from Jenison High School in 1982.

A creative spirit, Susan pursued her passion in beauty and service. Above her career being a Mother and Grandmother brought her joy. Creating afghan’s for friends and expecting mothers. She was an avid dog lover and will be greeted by many wet noses and tail wags. Her thoughtfulness in handcrafted gifts has extended to her daughter Charlotte through baking treats. Her words of wisdom and compassion are cherished by those who knew her well! Susan’s Christian faith shone through. She taught her loved ones that God is ever-present and always caring

Her greatest pride and joy were her two daughters, Jessica Hembroff (37) and Charlotte (Haran) Cody (30), who continue to shine her light forward. Susan was also the beloved grandmother of Lucas Hembroff, 17, and Carter Hembroff, 5, who filled her life with laughter and purpose.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Letha DeBruine, and is survived by her siblings Char Piskun and John DeBruine, as well as her daughters, grandchildren, and extended family.

Throughout her life, Susan’s warmth, passion and caring nature touched both her family and friends. She will be remembered for her caring heart and the kindness she extended to everyone.

A memorial service will take place at a later date and will be announced.
