Sue Zemaitis

Sue Ann Zemaitis, age 77, formerly of Lansing and Grand Rapids, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at home under the loving care of her family and Emmanuel Hospice. The daughter of Clarence Johannes & Irene ValKorg (Hansen) Eisenga, she was born September 17, 1946 in Grand Rapids. On June 22, 1974 in Grand Rapids, she married Donald Michael Zemaitis, and together they enjoyed 37 years of marriage and raised two daughters. Sue enjoyed scrapbooking and collecting lighthouses. With her husband, she enjoyed bowling and travelling up north to Drummond Island, renting a cabin and spending time fishing together. She was a devoted mother to her daughters while they were growing up, and found her greatest delight in time spent with her family and dog, Tucker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don on January 6, 2012; and her sister-in-law, Penelope Eisenga. Surviving are her two daughters, Jill & Doug Bellah, of Belding, and Debbie Zemaitis & Bob Alderman of Chapmansboro, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Michaela, Alexander, Lillian, Cecelia, and Brynleigh; three great-grandchildren, Aaron, Chance, and Aiden; her brother, Larry (Judy) Eisenga; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Sue's life on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the home of Jill & Doug Bellah (additional details will be shared later). Instead of flowers, contributions in memory of Sue may be directed to Emmanuel Hospice.
