Stephen Weber

September 16, 1951 — February 22, 2025

It is with both sorrow and warmth in our hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen Frank Weber, 73 years of age, born in Napoleon, Ohio on September 16, 1951, and passed away on February 22, 2025. “Laughter is the Best Medicine” and Steve gave all of us continual doses. A man of extraordinary vitality and spirit, Steve’s life was a testament to living fully, passionately, and with a zest that was infectious to those around him. Steve enjoyed giving to others, both in his community in Lansing and his family. Prior to Steve’s move to Lansing he spent many years in Colorado and California. Steve previously owned and was a Sales Professional in the Micro Chip and Data Chip Component Supplier industry. Steve was an avid downhill skier and instructor throughout his life. His other interests were fishing, sailing, going to Lugnut baseball games, playing cards and other games, watching old movies and using his green thumb to grow plants. Steve ‘s life was underscored by his love for his family, his work, and his unwavering belief in the power of human connection. His legacy is a testament to the impact one life can have, and he will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Steve is survived by his siblings Beth Moore (Mark Bennett), Pat Weber (Michele Marcy-Weber), Mike Evans-Weber, Kathy Weber, Jenny Mattson, Mary Shomin (Mike Shomin), Amy Weber (Rick Nicodemi), Robyn Lamb-Wilcox (Kent), Jim Weber (Linda Weber), Todd Lamb (Brenda Lamb), his sister-in-law Kathryn Weber; step parents Jack Nelson Jr. and Betty Weber and their children, his nieces and nephews Jessica, Lindsay, Rhanya, Maggie, Jessica, Jake, Josh, Amanda, Justin, Kate, Isaac, Luke, Nicole, Zach, Shane, Kelsey, Nikki, Haley, and his cousins Liz Parker, Chrystie Hall, Kristy Sherman, Doug Weber; his aunt Mary McBride; cousins, Doug McBride and Dennis McBride. He was preceded in death by his father John Weber, mother Barbara Nelson, brothers Jack Weber, Curt Lamb, Chris Lamb and Christian Nelson. His life was not without its share of challenges and loss, but it was also filled with joy, laughter, and love, and it is this that we choose to celebrate. As Maya Angelou said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Steve’s final words were “Don’t waste time” encouraging all of us to continue living our lives to the fullest. Steve’s spirit and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
