Stephen Ryder

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen (Steve) Ryder. Steve passed away in Battle Creek, on Saturday, January 29, 2022, under the loving care of his family and hospice. He was born December 23, 1950 in Kalamazoo, the son of Carl and Margaret (Sikkema) Ryder. Stephen served in the United States Army, out of Fort Hood in Vietnam, twice, and in Indo China and Korea. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Margaret. Surviving is his wife of thirty-four years, Shelia (Murphy) Ryder; his children, Steve (Angel) Ryder, Darryl (Rhea) Knoll and Angie (Matt) Lee; brothers, Jeff (Debbie) Ryder, and Randy (Penny) Ryder; sisters, Rhonda (Bill) Wilson and Susan (Joe) Olivares. He also leaves behind his many nieces, nephews and beloved grandchildren, as well as many friends, most importantly, Pete and Debi Miner. Per Steve's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.
