Stephanie Meyer

February 8, 1978 — January 20, 2024

Stephanie Marie (Coker) Meyer, 45, passed away on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 after a long and incredibly brave battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born to Marvin and Belinda (Haas) Coker on February 8th, 1978 (a winter famous for it”s blizzards) in Ludington, MI. Stephanie married Jason Meyer on October 6th, 2007. She and Jason went on to have the love of their lives: two incredibly beautiful and very bright children - Rebecca Jean and Chad Henry. She felt truly blessed to have them as her children. Stephanie homeschooled herself and went on to put herself through nursing school at West Shore Community College - earning her degree as a Registered Nurse. She went on to get her Bachelor’s Degree and was working on becoming an Advanced Nurse Practitioner when she was diagnosed. She worked as a hospice nurse for Spectrum for 14 years, but as a nurse for a total of 19 years for them. She spent time as a traveling nurse in Bar Harbor, Maine and Soldotna, Alaska before she discovered that being home in Michigan was the best place for her to be. Coworkers describe her as being the most honest, trusting nurse a patient could ever have - she would advocate for her patients even if it meant going up against physicians. If Stephanie Meyer was in your corner you were going to be OK. She loved gardening. Every year she ordered enough seeds to cover decades of her life. She loved gifting her family with the many quilts she made. She was an avid reader and she was the smartest person you could ever meet but was extremely humble about it. She was generous and took her baby sister on all of her adventures including a trip to Europe, multiple rafting trips, road trips as well as hiked 170 miles of the Appalachian Trail with her. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Jason Meyer; daughter, Rebecca Meyer; son, Chad Meyer; mother, Belinda (Haas) Coker; brother, Benjamin (Laurie) Coker; sister, Rachel (Kristofer) Hankins; grandmother, Mary Jane Haas; nieces, nephews, and lifelong friend, Rebecca Unruh. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Coker and a nephew, Theron Lee Coker. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 220 N. Jebavy Dr. Ludington, MI, 49431, on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Fellowship will start at 12:00 pm with a service following at 1:00 pm. and a light meal will be served afterwards.
