Stella went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2026, at the age of 92, just shy of her 93rd birthday.
Born on May 24, 1933, in Ludington, Stella grew up along the lakeshore and graduated from Ludington High School. She later attended nursing school in Muskegon and devoted much of her life to caring for others. Stella worked for many years in private in-home care before joining Provincial House, where she faithfully served for 15 years until her retirement.
Stella married the love of her life, Clifford, in Ludington, and together they shared 68 years of marriage. After beginning their life together there, they moved to Eaton Rapids and eventually settled in Holt, where they raised their family and made their home for more than 40 years. In their later years, Stella and Clifford moved to Windsor Estates. During retirement, they enjoyed spending winters in Lake Panasoffkee , Florida, browsing flea markets, dancing, and simply enjoying time together.
Stella and Clifford were longtime members of the Eagles and the Moose Lodge, where they especially enjoyed polka dancing. In 1999, they became active members of their local senior center which later moved to the Sam Corey Senior Center when it opened. They were among the first to walk through its doors. In 2010, they were honored as King and Queen. “Table 4” became their special place, where they shared laughter, friendship, and many happy memories.
Stella was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family fiercely and was always there in her own strong and faithful way. Stella was the matriarch of her family—a steady, loving presence whose strength and care shaped generations. She raised three children and, despite the heartbreaking loss of two during her lifetime, remained a constant source of love and faith. Often with a smile and her familiar saying, “whatever, whatever,” and “don’t sweat the small stuff”. Quietly strong, Stella was also a breast cancer survivor whose resilience showed in the way she lived her life. She loved watching the NBA and found great joy in cheering on her favorite team, the Golden State Warriors.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her endless happiness and were a constant source of pride and love.
Stella is survived by her beloved husband, Clifford; her son, Randy (Sandi) Williams; her grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Mortimore, Jess (Ellen) Williams, Cody Williams, Samantha (Kyle) Epps, and Thomas Solomon; her great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Lily, Madison, and Hudson; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Williams, her son, Thomas Williams, her parents, in-laws, and several beloved extended family members, including brother, sister, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with loved ones, and held in the arms of her Savior.
A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 1:00-3:00pm at Windsor Estates Clubhouse, 6661 N. Canal Road. Dimondale, MI 48821. .
