Stanley “Buck” Chesla, aged 85, of Marne, Michigan passed away early morning of August 28, 2025. Buck was a loving and attentive husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Marne Lions Club, serving as a president on a few occasions.
As a former manager of Klein Fertilizers, a salesman at Reister’s, and soil technician (field representative), he was a good friend to many farmers in the area. He retired from Wilbur Ellis ten years ago.
Buck was a loyal, hardworking, and caring individual who had a great sense of humor. He had a nickname for everyone and always greeted you with a firm handshake or a gentle hug. He was active in the community, mowing lawn around the veteran’s memorial and volunteering for many community projects. Not only did he help others but he cared for and sheltered stray cats that found their way to him.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Helen Chesla; and older brother, Joseph Chesla, Jr.
Surviving are his loving wife of forty-seven years, Diane; their eight children, Stephen & Cindy Chesla, Becky & Russ Baker, Peter Chesla & Cheryl Luneke, Todd & Kathie Chesla, Christine & Tim Stroven, Steven Waste, Michel Waste, and Jason & Kim Chesla; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass honoring Buck’s life is being planned for Wednesday, September 11, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church (15164 Juniper Drive, Marne) with the time to be announced.
