Stanley Clinton Braden, age 54, of Gowen, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 12, 2012 at Spectrum Health-United Hospital in Greenville. The son of Claude & Ellen (Gould) Braden, he was born on March 5, 1958 in Greenville and attended Greenville High School. Despite a swimming accident at the age of 18 that left him paralyzed, Stan lived life to the fullest and enjoyed anything with a chassis and wheels -- especially Chevrolet's, John Deere tractors, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Before his injury he worked for CSX Railroad as a lineman and later owned a karaoke and D.J. business. He also liked computers and music and was an honorary member of the Wayward Sons Motorcycle Club. Surviving are his parents, Claude & Ellen Braden of Gowen; a sister, Emily & Leo McKenna of Belding; two nieces, Molly McKenna of Chicago, Illinois, and Kate McKenna of Ypsilanti; a nephew, Caleb McKenna of Richmond, Virginia; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; a very special friend, Ruth Sanderson of Gowen; and many other dear friends. Visitation is Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The Rev. Joan Skinner, Senior Pastor at Victory Church of Rockford, will officiate and burial will take place privately at Riverside Cemetery in Langston.
