Shirley Venard

February 26, 1933 — February 14, 2024

Shirley Jean (Beach) VeNard, age 90, of Grandville, Michigan, gently passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior following a short illness on February 14, 2024. She was born at home in Greenville, Michigan to Clarke and Alice (Wickerham) Beach. She was the first-born of three children and the last of her family to enter into eternity. Shirley graduated from Creston High School, class of 1952. She married her husband of 40 years, Dan VeNard, II, on November 13, 1952. Together, their family grew to include three sons and a daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan VeNard, II, her son, Roger VeNard, her parents, Clarke and Alice Beach and her sisters, Joyce (Beach) Sall, and Lois Beach. Shirley deeply adored her family and always said, “I love you”. She had a gentle spirit and could best be described as agreeable, though questionable comments or actions usually were met with, “Hmmmmm”. She loved quiet moments of prayer and devotion with her Lord. She cherished every moment with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived life well. She is survived by her son, Dan (Marva) VeNard, III, daughter, Sharon VeNard and son, David (Annette) VeNard, Grandchildren, Ross VeNard, Michelle (Dave) Jonker, Chief Petty Officer Erick (Brigitte) VeNard, and Aaron VeNard. Great-grandchildren, Micah VeNard, Helena VeNard, Grayson Jonker, Hinley Jonker, Brecken Jonker, Benjamin VeNard, Michael VeNard and Victoria VeNard. Also nieces, nephews and cousins. Celebration of Life services will be planned with details to be announced at a later date.
