Shirley Vanderende

Shirley Kay “Mahoot” VanderEnde Shirley K, VanderEnde went home to be with her Lord and Savior on 10/30/2023. Shirley was born on 12/10/1950 and lived her life in West Michigan. Shirley grew up in Grand Rapids and surrounding areas. She married Don Riemersma and had two children Rodney and Julie, as life moved forward, Shirley and Don realized that they were better friends than husband and wife. Shirley then married Reinier VanderEnde both on their second marriage and children on both sides Renee & Tracey (Reinier) Rodney and Julie (DON). Shirley had two more children, Theodore, and Abbie…With a full family of 6 children, Shirley found her love of being a mother, and life becoming fuller with 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Shirley loved camping, boating, traveling, shopping, and being with her family. Shirley was part owner of a successful business that would one day become a staple of the “go to” exotic bird community of west Michigan “Casa La Parrot.” Shirley was a loving mother, sister, and friend, that would go out of her way to lend a hand to help anyone in need. She Loved all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother’s sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by Granddaughter: Felicia VanderEnde Parents: Phyllis & Robert Biggs, Sister: Michelle Biggs, Brother: Bobby Biggs. Shirley is survived by her Children Rodney Riemersma, Julie Riemersma, Theodore VanderEnde (Monica) Abbie Wilson (Erik) Renee Griffin (Jimmy) Tracey Negron (Miguel) 12 Grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 brother, 6 sisters and 4 brother in laws. A celebration of life will be held November 11th at 2:00pm at Wesley Park united Methodist Church. 1150 32nd St SW, Wyoming, MI 49509. The service can also be found later online for the consideration of friends and family that are unable to attend.
