Shirley Ann Drumm

Shirley Ann Drumm, or as her granddaughters lovingly called her, “Goofy Grandma”, passed away unexpectedly on August 24, 2026 at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Earl Edward Drumm on June 7, 2025 at the age of 85. They somehow put up with each other for 62 years before his passing. Their feisty relationship was nothing but love and mutual respect, a model for all those that were lucky enough to witness it. They met through a mutual acquaintance, Shirley’s brother Jerry, when she was just 18 years old. Apparently, it was love at first sight, because they were inseparable for almost all of those 62 years. You couldn’t pry them apart. She was always Earl’s rock. In fact, she held him his last night on earth. Her family is comforted to know that he is now holding her.

Shirley is survived by her three perfect children, six very different grandchildren and two great grandchildren. First on the roster is Deanna Drumm of Laingsburg, Michigan and her two children Theodore Miller and David Otis, his wife Kayla and their two children Evelyn and Lillian. Next would be the neglected middle child James Drumm of White Lake, Michigan, his wife Lynette and their two children Kristen Drumm and Sarah Chu, and her husband Philip. Then there is the “oopsy”, Timothy Drumm of Hailey, Idaho, his wife Amy and his two children Sawyer and Finn.

Mom was very lighthearted, and she was an extremely silly person. She loved her family and friends even when it hurt. She wouldn’t want us to dwell on the loss, she would want us to move forward with love in our hearts and to celebrate a life well lived. On that note…. HOOTY HOO!
