Mr. Sherman S. Prentice, age 95 years, 13 days, of Greenville, passed away Saturday evening, April 28, 2007 at his home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Sherborn A. & Clara H. (Fifarek) Prentice, he was born on April 15, 1912, in Kalkaska.
For many years, Sherman was the movie projectionist at the old Silver Theater in Greenville, as well as working as a refrigeration repairman in later years. An avid woodsman, he liked hunting and trapping, but enjoyed fishing the most. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Jess, Frank, & Bill; and two sisters, Arlene and Frances.
Surviving are three sons, Leroy & Nancy Prentice of West Branch, Robert & Debora Prentice of Six Lakes, and Thomas Prentice of Chattanooga, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Lee, Gary, Andrew, Amy, Rodney, and Remus Prentice; two great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until processing to Eureka Township Cemetery for graveside committal services at 2:00 p.m. Pastor James Massengill of Six Lakes Christian Bible Missionary Church will officiate.
