Sharon Lee Woodman, age 79, of Crystal, passed away Sunday, June 1,2025 at her home under the loving care of her family and MyMichigan Home Hospice.
The daughter of Bernard Clair & May Bell (Bird) Holmes, she was born on April 19,1946 in Mason, Michigan and graduated from Mason High School.
After graduation she worked for the Michigan Department of Education. During that time, she met Bruce Robert Woodman, and they wed on October 29, 1966. They lived in Haslett for 2 years, then moved to the family farm in Crystal, where they raised 2 sons and enjoyed nearly 58 years of marriage until Bruce passed away on August 20, 2024.
Sharon returned to college at the age 35 to started nursing school to become an RN. She worked 24 years in nursing, retiring as a Diabetes Educator.
Sharon enjoyed traveling, and among the places she went, were Canada and multiple countries in Europe. She was a member of Red Hat Society and the Crystal Congregational Church.
Surviving are her two sons, Brian & Victoria Woodman of Crystal and Chief Warrant Officer Blaine Woodman serving with the U.S. Army at Colorado Springs, Colorado; five grandchildren, Brennen & Kaelynn Woodman, Mitch & Abby Vining, Victor Woodman, McKinley Woodman & Iman Hearing, and Rainier Woodman, one great-granddaughter, Brylee; siblings, Sue & Terry Leverett, Sandy Farr, and Stewart Holmes; a brother-in-law, Doug & Erma Jo Woodman of Carson City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, great grandbaby, and several uncles and aunts.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Sharon's life beginning at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, at the Crystal Congregational Church, 300 S. Main Street, Crystal, with Pastors William Ronald Toliver and Reid Martin offering a brief ceremony. Burial will take place privately at Crystal Cemetery at a later date.
Instead of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions made in her memory to MyMichigan Home Hospice.
