Sharon Elizabeth Tompsett, age 90, of Trufant, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 19, 2026 at Lakeview Terrace Assisted Living under the care of Corewell Health Hospice and with her loving family at her side. The daughter of Fred L. & Elizabeth Eleanor (Griffiths) Clements, she was born on July 17, 1935 in Lyons, Michigan.

After graduating from Belding High School in 1952, she worked briefly at Jolly Kids Garment Factory and later worked out of the home at JC Penney in Greenville. On November 6, 1953, in Belding, she married Paul Willard Tompsett and together they enjoyed almost 65 years of marriage and raised four children.

Sharon was a talented artist and her masterpieces were portrayed in painted pictures, ceramics, and Christmas ornaments. Her handiwork didn’t stop at painting, she was also a skilled quilter and she enjoyed antiquing at estate sales and flea markets. Her favorite animals were always giraffes, and she got to experience seeing and feeding them Boulder Ridge Animal Park. While she had many hobbies and other interests, times spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren her most treasured memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Paul Tompsett; two brothers, Robert & Faye Clements and Roger & Yvonne Clements; her brother-in-law, Raymond & Margaret Tompsett; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy & Jack Rowland, Margaret & Clare Wilson, and Charlotte & Lewis Peck; and two nieces, Linda Clements and Jody Clements.

Surviving are her four children, Sherry & Rodney Snyder of Stanton, David & Nancy Tompsett of Roscommon, Patricia & Chris Ehlert of Stanton, and Jeff & Julie Tompsett of Trufant; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren -- with the twenty-third due in April; one brother, Phillip & Shirley Clements; and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring Sharon’s wishes, committal services will be held at Trufant Cemetery in the spring.
