Sharon Settlemyre

Sharon Kay Settlemyre, age 77, of rural Cedar Springs, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Mission Point of Belding. The daughter of Art & Virginia (McCormick) Budd, she was born on April 14, 1945 in Pico Rivera, California. On October 26, 1963, in Big Rapids, she married Steven Coleman Settlemyre and together they enjoyed 53 years of marriage and raised three children until Steven passed away on November 11, 2016. Together they attended Spencer Mills Church and East Nelson United Methodist Church and enjoyed square dancing, quilting, and playing music. Sharon retired from the former Electrolux Home Products after 40 plus years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter-in-law, Karen Swartwood on January 10, 2022; and a son-in-law, John Peterson of February 10, 2022; her father-in-law, James Coleman Settlemyre; her mother-in-law, Retta "Iola" Stiles; and two step-father-in-laws, Walter Andrew Enyart and Loren Stiles. Surviving are her children, Dana Peterson of Allendale, Mark Settlemyre of Grand Rapids, and Nicole Settlemyre & Jim Roberts of Belding; five grandchildren, Mercedes & Scott Spencer, Emilee Phenix & Devin Clack, Adam Everingham, Keristin Everingham, and Daniel Gotwalt & Marian Moore; four great-grandchildren, Elise Spencer, Colton Everingham, Arthur Everingham, and Hunter Everingham; two sisters, Judith Rankin and Janice & Rusty Burch; siblings-in-law, James & Joan Settlemyre, Jan & Connie Settlemyre, Walter Kim & Carol Enyart, Kelly & Jim Bouman, Kevyn & Becky Enyart, Daryn & Tina Stiles, Mari & Sam Dwyer, and Jamie Stiles & Mike Abbott Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family is from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S.
