Scot William “Double V” VanVleet, 56, passed away peacefully at home in Grandville, Michigan, on September 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on February 10, 1969, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Scot lived life with passion and joy. He loved cooking, Corvettes, and Harleys, and could often be found at concerts or on the dance floor, where his energy was unmatched. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his close-knit crew of friends.
Professionally, Scot built a successful career in automation sales that spanned more than three decades. Respected for his dedication and professionalism, he remained active in his work until his passing.
Above all, Scot was a proud father to his sons, Chase and Caden. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Cathy Dewitt (Jack), Diane Copeland, James VanVleet, and Angie Jackobs (Beau). His extended family includes many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, who will all cherish memories of his vibrant spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert VanVleet and Lucy Singleton, and his brother-in-law, Joe Copeland.
Scot deeply valued the relationships in his life. He shared a special bond with Nichole, his beloved “forever girl.” Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support, standing hand in hand through life’s challenges and celebrations. Scot also held close Nichole’s daughters, Kira and Regan.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 12, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Corinth Reformed Church, 129 100th St SE, with a funeral service to follow at Noon.
