Mrs. Sandra Kay Burns, age 64, of Greenville, went home to be with her Lord Friday afternoon, Nov. 23, 2007 from the emergency room of Spectrum Health United Memorial-United Hospital, Greenville. Born on Aug. 1, 1943 in Flushing, she married Ridgeway Alden Burns on May 4, 1963 in Petoskey.
Together they raised five children and were members of the Jesus Non-Denominational Church in Greenville. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, handicrafts, and gardening, but will be best remembered for her baking talents.
She was preceded in death by her mother, LaVerna Badder Jones.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Ridgeway Ridge Burns of Greenville; five children, Jackie & David Perrin of Wyoming, Steve & Mary Burns of Mancelona, Kimberly & Edward Dean of Howard City, Angie Burns of Twin Lake, and Beth Burns of Saranac; a sister, Elizabeth Rudder; a brother and sister-in-law, Anthony & Melody Pastorino; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 at the Jesus Non-Denominational Church, north of Greenville at 9206 W. Peck Road, with the Rev. Tom Turner officiating. Burial will take place privately at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia.
